About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".

One of my favorite things...
...is to watch Elese eat her oatmeal. She eats it just like her daddy but a lot messier. First she very thoughtfully scoops the oatmeal onto her toast and then eats the toast. It is SO cute especially when she gets to her very last teeny tiny bite of toast.

The Reason
These are the reasons that I make sacrifices to stay home with my kids.

Playing Sleeping Beauty with Elese. She puts on my lip gloss and then goes in my room and sings, "I know you..." and then yells, "OK prince, come in!" Then I come in and sing and dance with her and she tells me to leave again. While I'm gone she lays in my bed and tells me I can come back in. I give her a kiss and ta da she wakes up.
Max. I love watching Max talk to his best friend Reed on the phone. Reed moved to Mexico this past summer.
You can really only sacrifice for so long. I hate to say it but I recently got a job to help us get into a house. BUT I am not willing to sacrifice my time with my kids and husband so I will be working from 10pm-2am doing data entry at home. I'm sure the lack of sleep with not be pleasant but my kids are worth it. Yesterday Max said something that reminded me that they are the reason I'm going to missing out on sleep and the fact that I'm doing it for them is going to make it a lot easier!
Max: "Mom where are you going to work for your new job?"
Me: "I'm going to work at home while you are asleep."
Max: "YEAH! I wanted you to stay home." This comment was accompanied by a HUGE hug.

Another lost tooth
Yesterday morning around 6 am Max woke up because he felt something in his mouth. It was a lost tooth so he simply set it on his dresser and went back to sleep. Good boy.
With Max starting to loose his teeth Elese has become very curious and is also feeling a bit left out. Yesterday while she was coloring the tip of a crayon broke and fell off. Thinking that this was an opportunity for Elese to get some tooth loosing attention (not to mention a little cold hard cash) she started pretending that the crayon tip was her lost tooth. In the middle of the night Elese woke up because her "toes were poking out" of the blanket. This has become a very common excuse for getting out of bed in the MIDDLE of the night and we are working on solving the problem. Anyway...as I put her back in bed and hugged her I noticed something under her pillow. What I found was her "tooth" in a Ziploc bag. Apparently she was hoping she could fool the tooth fairy with her crayon but she didn't. However Max did find himself a nice crisp $1.00 bill under his pillow this morning.
