First we had the kids frost and decorate a Gingerbread Man Cookie. We made sugar cookies because I don't know many kids that like gingerbread cookies. Then we played a game to learn each others names. Steven read the kids the Gingerbread Man Book.
Now the next game was for sure a hit. One boy would hide the the box/oven and pretend to be a gingerbread man. Then everyone counted to four (because Max is turning four) and the gingerbread man would jump out of the oven and one of the boys would try to catch him. This was for sure a fan favorite!

Then we opened presents...

And had cake and Ice Cream.

Elese especially loved the cake.

We sent every family home with a board book of The Gingerbread Man. It was a hit. One of the little boys even brought his book to church to look at during sacrament meeting.

You always had the most fun birthday parties for you so Max is going to LOVE growing up! It looks like the birthday party was fun...what a good idea!
Becky, you are such a cute mom! Seeing those pics of your moms house gave me total flashbacks, that was like my second home :)
I just stumbled across your blog. I am currently planning a Gingerbread Man party for my son's 4th birthday too! He loves that story. I had mostly the same ideas as you had used but had not thought of the box game... I'll use that.
Thanks,
Andie
