My friend referred me to this website, www.myfoodstoragedeals.com and it's great! You pay a small fee and she figures out the best deals on grocery's. She also has a weekly meal plan that you can follow! You do need to shop at several stores to follow the meal plan so I haven't tried that yet since going to one store with the kids is challenging enough.
My grocery budget is $150 for every 2 weeks and I almost always go over by $10 or $20. Yesterday I went shopping and had a great time (who knew it could be fun)! As my cart started over flowing I just kept thinking, "I really hope this is within my budget because I only brought $150 cash." and to my surprise it WAS within my budget! I got about $190.00 worth of groceries for $127.11. So, not only did I get all the food I need for the next two weeks I also got a good start on my food storage with a 6 month supply of spaghetti sauce and a 2-3 month supply of cereal! I was a little weary of paying a fee for her services but in my first shopping trip I saved $53.70 that is the cost of 6 months of her service and I saved all that in one trip! So if anyone is interested check it out! You can also visit her blog at www.myfoodstoragedeals.blogspot.com for food storage tips and ideas! I've always thought sales are the way to go but I just never had the patience to figure out what the best deals were, it's worth it to may to pay someone else to do all the leg work.
Food storage is so important and one of those things that I always thought I could never do because I didn't have the money, who knew that starting a food storage would actually save me money!
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".

Thank you for sharing Becky! Although the service itself doesn't help me (because the only store we have here is Albertsons - which is THE most expensive store in town), but there is great info on food storage, which we are trying to work on... so thanks for sharing!
I also have a website that I'm using, it's called, "The Grocery Game". I have a link on my blog, but it's just www.thegrocerygame.com You just put in your zip code and it tells you all the stores in your area they have a list for. I've been using it for a couple of years now. In Tooele, they only have a list for Albertson's and Walgreens. But they do have other lists, probably more is SL. You get a 4 week trial for $1 and after that it's $5 every 8 weeks. This las time I went to Albertson's, I saved $74 and spent $100. You should check it out.
Way to go Becky!!! Nothing feels better than getting started, and then it doesn't seem quite so overwhelming. Great job!!
Thanks for the post about us :) The menu planner works great if you match all of the prices at Walmart--it makes stocking up easy and saves lots of money!
If you choose to sign up, you can use promo code FREE TRIAL and try our service for 2 weeks free!

P.S.--The grocery game is great, however they are MUCH more expensive and don't give you the food storage help and menu planner ;)
With the meal planner, I don't have the gas (or stores) to go around to pick up every little thing for the food planner. The GG tells the % that you are saving on each item and I don't think they are expensive. $5 for 4 weeks isn't much, plus you get 4 week trial for $1. They do tell you what deals are good and to stock up on. Plus they give you the price before, the sale price and the price what it will be if you use a coupon. Since they give me the price I can know pretty close to what I am going to spend.
Great job, Becky! Cool. Hey, where were you when we were in town? Hopefully we'll be coming in Oct. for our bi-annual Conference trip. And Thanksgiving? Totally! We'll definitely go shopping. I'm so excited! Let us know if you need a place to stay. We have an extra bedroom now. See ya soon!
