The adventures of the last week or so.

On the 11th Max gained a testimony of prayer. He had gone to a friends house and I had gotten in the shower. Once I was done with my shower I thought I heard some crying but then it stopped. The thought crossed my mind that Max could be locked out, you see we have a door that can be opened from the inside even when it is locked. I really wanted to just get dressed, brush my teeth, you know, all the typical after shower stuff. So I decided that I was just hearing things. Seconds later the thought came to my mind, "just get on your robe and go check and do it now!" So I did and there I found Max, nice and calm. He reached for the door one last time before he could see me coming and started to cry when it didn't open. Less than a second later I opened the door. I gave him a big hug. He told me that he said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to "let him open the door", then he tried to open the door that last time and I was there to let him in. It was very special for him and next time he asks to bare his testimony he will say more than, "I'm thankful for a Daddy that plays with me".

On Tuesday, the 18th, I was cooking dinner and Elese asked to go potty so I got her all set up and asked Max to help her get down while I finished dinner. After a minute I realized that she was taking much longer than usual. Sitting on the potty for her generally only lasts anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds. Just then I heard Max laughing and he said, "Come her mommy, you got to see this!" This is what I found.

The toilet was clogged. Thank goodness I had the plunger close by.

Yesterday was Max's final little Samurai class. This was a class put on by the community education program It was a 8 week program. For the first couple of weeks Max would ask, "When do I get to learn real Karate? I need to fight like batman." It wasn't long until he started getting to trip other children in class and hold them down on the ground, if you ask me, it was a little more like wrestling. At the end of class all of the children got to fight the Sensai. If they did the move correctly the Sensai would throw himself accross the mat holding tightly to the child and then plop the child on top of him and pretend he couldn't get up. It was definatly the most entertaing part of the class. Here are some photos I took during his last class. The lighting isn't great so I couldn't get a picture of him and his Sensai.

That is awesome about Max knowing how to pray. And the toilet paper thing, I know when my boys are playing in another room and then minutes go by in silence, they are destroying something or making a mess.

The prayer story is so sweet. I love it when my kids teach me life lessons.

I loved that story. It's interesting to see how young they are when they really see the importance of prayer. Can't wait to see you next week. I'll call you tonight. Promise.
