After Elese was born I had very bad low back pain. I tried physical therapy and even had an MRI. After physical therapy the pain was not as sever but it seemed to be more constant. When I started exercising 2-5 times a week it helped strengthen my back so the pain wasn't as constant but if any pressure was put on my back I would be in pain.
Friday I went and had acupuncture. It really didn't hurt at all. He did run an electric current through my ear (apperently there are nerve endings connected to the back in your ear) and that hurt a little but it wasn't anything I couldn't bare. He said some people can just have one treatment and be fine...lucky for me I seem to be one of those people. I felt immediate relief. When I got up to leave I felt a little twinge in my back but by the time I got home I was fine. Later that day my back felt a little tender to the touch but no different from if I had just had a massage or lifted weights. Now I feel nothing. I never noticed how often I was in pain until it was gone. So if you have some sort of pain that will not go away I highly recomend acupunture!
I'm going back this Friday but not for my back. I have belly fat (but I'm a twig everywhere else) which can be caused by hormones and he thinks he can help. Plus he can increase your matabolism! I'm very excited and happy I can use my HSA card to pay for it.
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".

Acupuncture covered by insurance? So it didn't hurt?
Not really "covered" I was just able to use my health savings card but my insurance isn't paying anything for it. Nope, no pain.
