After a late night at Disneyland we woke up at 4am to head out to Long Beach to go deep sea fishing for a shoot. We met Chad and Darrin there. Chad and Darrin were the only ones to participate in the fishing but we still have fun tagging along. We saw several Dolphins, Seals, & even Gray Whales. It was a very fun ride and fortunately none of us got sea sick enough to throw up. Chad also let Max help out with his fishing and Darrin won the pool for catching the biggest fish. On the way back to land Elese fit in a much needed cat nap while Max enjoyed watching the seagulls follow the boat in.
Day 2 Sunday September 5th:
AYL was given a Victory Motorcycle to give away and Chad and Darrin wanted to take it for a drive up the coast before giving it away. This was a beautiful drive! Unfortunately they had planned to stop in Monteray which was supposed to have beautiful scenery but it turned out that we drove right by all the pretty stuff and Steven was SO upset that he didn't stop and film. It started a bit of a family argument but it all got worked out. Other than stopping to eat the day was really spent mostly in the car and the kids were really well behaved even though they hadn't had much sleep...although during the drama of missing some really great shots Elese started to get really tired of being in the car. At one point we got to stop and play on the beach while Steven did some filming. Elese enjoyed finding sea shells while Max liked playing in the sand and neither of them liked playing in the water.
Just as we were wrapping up filming Darrin offered to take Max for a ride on the bike and he jumped at the opportunity. We met them several miles up the road and Max still didn't want to get off the bike. It was getting dark and cold so we let him ride with Darrin to dinner and then put him back in the warm car.
Day 3 Monday September 6th, Memorial Day/Sacramento:
This was our relaxing day. We stayed in a hotel because David and Stephanie are living with her parents and the kids needed some downtime/nap time. Elese and I spent some time at the hotel resting while the boys played. Then Stephanie, Elese and I went to get pedicures and Elese LOVED it!!! Later that evening we went swimming at their place and the kids had a blast having the freedom to jump off the diving board with the security of having daddy there to catch them. The next morning we met for breakfast and headed home. We had a blast on the trip and are so glad we had a chance to take the kids to Disneyland, they were the perfect ages to really enjoy it!
