When Samuel turned one years old he got to try whole milk for the first time. He was still nursing because he loved it and I did too. That lasted until Mother's Day. Not because I wanted to stop as a gift I had just gone out the night before and missed his night time feeding so I fed him in the morning and after that he did just fine with his bottle. We decided to go with glass bottles because they are supposed to be better than plastic and way cool. Poor kid couldn't even hold the heavy thing up. It didn't take long for him to try throwing it off of his high chair. Then I knew for sure, glass bottles were not for this kid.
Steven had scout camp that weekend and there were some other things (that I can't remember) going on that made us decide to scale back on his birthday party. We invited people over for Red Devils (Fritos with chili on it and this yummy tomato sauce) which was super simple. My family dinner was going to be in just a couple of days and I didn't feel it was necissary for everyone to make the drive for the party when they could just see him on Sunday. We also did it a little early so some people couldn't get there right after work. Grandma and Grandpa Heumann came and so did Grandma Hale and Uncle Spencer and his kids. Some of Tim's family showed up for a little while. Clothes were his #1 gift and he needed them badly. I'm not sure what happened to all of Max's clothes...
Then came the cake that got him all tuckered out. I proceeded to feed him like a calf with his heavy glass bottle.
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".
