Fish Lake 2012 *Aug. 17-19 2012*

Day 1 August 17th:
We left early enough to enjoy the drive.  Our first stop was at Trafalga.  We figured it would be a good place to get the wiggles out and we may as well get some more use out of our Pass of all Pass.  There was rock wall climbing (Max made it to the top! While Elese just enjoyed letting go of the wall and dropping down to the ground)-Sam Chasing and Laser Tag playing.

Then it was off to the Red Barn for Ice Cream and snacks.  We got to the cabin around 5:30 unpacked relaxed and headed down to the lodge for dinner.  It was a bit of a wait so I played with same while we waited for our food.  After dinner we played by the lake where E feared Sam would fall in.  I had the same fear.  He would bend over to pick up a rock and start to tip forward.  We stayed up until 10 with the big kids playing Super Mario Brothers.  It wasn't a great night sleep because Sam wouldn't sleep and Elese fell out of bed.
Day 2 August 18th 
Had some eggs and bacon for Breakfast and played more Mario. Steven took the big kids down to the lake while Sam and I tried to nap...napping didn't really happen.  At 11:30 Sam and I went to the lake just as the others were heading back to the cabin because the fishing pole broke.  We found another one at the cabin but it wasn't very good.  While we sat around feeling frustrated and Max shed a few tears we watched as an older gentleman caught a fish after his first cast and he gave it to us.  We had just decided to head home when this happened but the sweet man let the kids use his fishing pole to fish.  All the while Sam pushed the stroller around and screamed at the old mans dog.  Then it was snack time and Sam's second attempt at a nap.  And..I didn't take any more notes about the trip so I don't remember what else we did.  I'm sure there was a walk to the stream somewhere in there.

Day 3 August 19th
We cleaned up the cabin and then had to introduce Sam to Penny Rock before we made the trek home.  We took our time going the back way this time and enjoying the drive.

Update 3/20/13:  Well look at that!  I found more photos.  It seems we went on another walk before heading for home.  We love our Fish Lake Walks.  Oh and  suddenly I remember nearly running over several cows on our drive home...at least the view was nice.

After we got home Steven's brother called and told us to come get some zucchini.  Elese had planted a zucchini plant at pre-school and we gave it to Tim to care for since we didn't have a garden.  Steven took Elese with him to get it and she was so proud of her little zucchini plant that created gigantic zucchini.  I did quite a pit of baking with that zucchini...zucchini cookies-bread-and my favorite zucchini cupcakes with caramel frosting.  YUM!  Then I threw away a bunch.  It was way too huge to really freeze it or cook it.
