Steven decided to lay down on the floor with Olivia and Sam didn't think he looked very comfortable. So Sam got daddy a pillow and then ran into his room for his "Gobbie" and joined Steven and Liv on the floor. What a sweet thoughtful boy!
Elese LOVES making books! She wants to be a writer/illustrator when she grows up. He books started out a bit plagiarized from books she had read or movies she had seen. After a discussion with her about what it means to Copy write things she started using her own stories and her own ideas. For quiet sometime Elese had been asking to have a book sale but I hadn't had a chance to help her. Finally she just did it on her own. To make myself feel a little better about having not helped her out sooner I posted about it on facebook and got her some buyers. I warned them ahead of time that her prices were a bit steep. She was asking around $6 a book. The Millers (whom we love because they are awesome and SO sweet to our kids) came by and bought a couple (discounted of course) books.
My plan was to go on walks every morning after dropping the kids off to school me and the littles would go for a walk but because I hadn't had Steven fix the tires on the double stroller yet Sam got to ride his bike so we did go as often as I would have liked. One day I turned the stroller around to keep the sun out of Liv's eyes.
Sam decided that he should go backwards too. Sam also loves seeing the
RV's on mountain view drive. He always says "mom, mom RV!" At this time Sam still wasn't doing too much talking so I loved hearing him use his words and talk about the RV's. There are lots of RV's so after he points out the first one he will start shouting "mom , more!"
Max and I had a a date night at Trafalga.
Sam looked out the window and apparently I thought it was worth taking a photo of it.
Olivia pretty much rolled over with the exception of that pesky arm getting in the way. (9/17/13) Note: She is sucking her thumb as well which is not something she typically would do.Sam thought the boppy would make a cute hat...
...and he was right.
Max developed a sudden interest in building legos. I think it had something to do with University of Learning - it's a program at school where you need to track the time you work on certain projects and he decided it was a great opportunity to start playing with legos.
A sweet friend fro Costa Rica hand made this beautiful dress for Olivia and gave it to Tyler at an event and Steven finally brought it home from work.
I made the kids a fun after school snack out of Rollo's and a Hersey's Kiss.
Elese made a new friend...literally.
Sam's favorite things to say were "All Right!" and "Oh - ya!"
I did my best to look my best...
...that's really what I look like most days when Steven gets home from work. I'm lucky he loves me. I posted this on facebook with a status saying "I just looked in the mirror and suddenly understood the strange looks I got at the library. Why didn't my kids say anything you ask? Because this is what I look like almost every day." all the comments were either things like "Ha ha! I totally know how you feel!" or "What are you talking about? All I see is a beautiful mother." I have nice friends!
We had started the habit of family scripture study at the beginning of the school year and
one day (9/26/13) while reading at breakfast and I looked around and had to hold back tears. I love my little family and couldn't help but think that they won't be so little for long.
Spence had recently passed along some of Noah's old toys and Sam was trying out the tool set. I texted this photo to Steven's dad and he was so impressed with Sam's form and said that he is a natural.
Sister Mecham taught me how to can grape juice. It's not as yummy was fresh squeezing it but it is a lot less work for a lot more juice.
On September 30th Olivia rolled over from tummy to back. Elese came home from school with a stomach ache and even fell asleep on the couch right after school!
Max and Sam played with sweet Olivia so that I could take care of Elese.
