Sam started speech therapy on November 4th. After his evaluation I tried to be better about using complete sentences with him and it seemed to help. He was now saying two word sentences such as: "PaPa's Truck" "red car" "blue car" "red tie" "may I" "daddy home" "baby food".
I wasn't sure what to expect with speech therapy. Basically Lara just played with Sam. Sam always got to choose what we would play and his favorite thing was to play "Blue Ball".We would throw his ball back and forth and talk while he did it. So Sam would say "Blue Ball" and Lara or I would say "Throw blue ball" and then Sam would say "Throw blue ball". It was really basic stuff but he loved the time and attention that was given just to him so he was willing to say a few extra words and sometimes walk down the stairs holding one of our hands.
In other Sam news, on November 20th I asked him what Red means and his response was, "race!" Cute boy.
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".
