Today is the day, the big 2-9. The big game conflicts with much celebrating but my sister-in-law is making homemade french fries at her Super Bowl party and if you are me that is a pretty awesome present even if it isn't really a present.
Friday night Steven and I went dancing at the Murray Arts Center. We learned the Rumba and the West Coast Swing. It was a lot of fun. Steven makes this "I'm turned on" face when he is concentrating so I kept thinking that he was tuning in to his inner Latin side and trying to seduce me, it turned out the only thing going through his mind was, "Pause, quick quick, pause, quick quick." We had a lot of fun but my joints have been bothering me. I spent the entire night looking at his top button and trying not to let me hand fall off his shoulder. I'm not sure whats wrong with me but when I looked at myself in the mirror while we were taking a break from dancing I looked all lopsided. I tried to even out my shoulders but it felt like I was lifting weights and was very uncomfortable. We ended the dancing a little sooner than planned to give my aging bones a rest and enjoyed some Training Table Cheese fries followed by Frozen Yogurt from Red Mango.
Saturday we went to the Draper Temple open house. We were nervous that we wouldn't be able to make it through but we did. The kids were good other than Elese screaming at the top of her lungs at one very reverent point. Fortunatly we didn't have to rush too much to get the kids to Grandma Heumanns, take Grandma Hale home, buy gas and make it just in time for our 4pm show at Hale Theater. We saw Cash On Delivery. It is a very funny show. We had saw it about 9 years ago together and loved it. When we saw they were doing it again we knew we had to go. A friend from Ragtime was in it so it was fun to see him all covered in soot (you're going to have to see the play to understand). After the play we got on the 1 hour 15 min. waiting list for dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory. We went grocery shopping and bought be a Nora Jones CD at the book store while we waited. After 2 hours we were finally seated. I was very hungry and crabby but once we ate things were better.
Today we will watch the Big Game at Steven's sisters and enjoy time with his family. If you can't tell I like to spread my birthday out over as many days as possible. Chances are for the next two weeks when I ask Steven to do something for me I will follow it with, "It's my birthday."
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".
