June

Ok so things have been insane around here! I thought I would just do a quick (well as quick as it can be) post with a summary of what has gone on and then I will do a few more with more details.

So June was a disaster and here are just a few of the crazy things that have happened. Oh, and most of these things are just little dumb things but when they are piled up on top of each other it makes for very chaotic living arrangements.

  • Guys and Dolls rehearsals started every night.
  • Steven was working late for an extra project at work (Thanks mom for all your help)
  • Mike upgraded out computer (Thanks Mike). Now while this is a good thing it is also a little frustrating. I wanted to blog about the flood (more on that later) but because of the upgrade my dumb photo program wouldn't work the way it used to. I didn't have time to mess with it so I just had wait until now to figure out how to get it working.
  • Our toilet seat broke. Just the top part but it's still very annoying. The kids couldn't stand on it to brush their teeth so we had to bring in both of our step stools that I now trip over every time I go into the bathroom. Also, one night while getting ready for the show my make up brushes fell off the counter and into the toilet because it had no lid (it still doesn't, we need to go to Home Depot).
  • Comcast cut our antenna. So for the last 4 years we have just been using a cable wire to aquire our TV. Blake moved in and got cable and arranged for us to get it down stairs as well. When comcast came to install it they cut the cable and lost it in the wall. Then they just said, "Maybe your brother can fix it." And left. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get someone here to fix it. Oh, and they left a big hole in our wall where they tried to thread the cable through.
  • Then our DVD player finally gave out. So when the kids woke up in the morning wanting to watch cartoons they were SOL...and so were we. Cooking dinner, showering, doing dishes and laundry are all so much harder when you can't designate that time for that days movie/TV time.
  • The kids bedroom flooded. I will do an entirely different entry on that disaster.
  • I got the swine flu. Yep, curly tail and all. :) Fortunatly I wasn't quarintined or anything.
  • My mom spent a week in Ireland. I was very happy for her, jealous in fact, but OH how I could have used her help during all the craziness.
  • Steven and I had our 9 year anniversary. Because of the play this consisted of a lunch at the Olive Garden that was very yummy. Although I wasn't feeling so hot. This was the day before I started getting a fever.
Dispite all this we survived. I just kept telling myself (and Steven) this is just a trial. We need to just be stong and positive and show the Lord that we can handle it. Things have settled down now that they play is over and we are slowly getting the house put back together.
