Sharing the good news

July 28th, 2010
Knowing I wouldn't get a chance to stop by my mom's for several days I just called to tell her. The only thing was that my nieces were staying with her and we didn't want to completely spread the work until Steven's parents got back in town. Before I told her I said I had something to tell her and that she needed to control her reaction around the girls because we wanted to tell everyone else in a few days. Once I spilled the beans she yelled, "How exciting!!!" then she said, "Oooops" and whispered "How exciting."

My niece Nicole and her Fiance were taking out their endowments and afterward we all went out to dinner. While we were waiting to be seated Elese went and told Nicole that she was going to be a big sister. She was SO excited to break the news to everyone.

Steven's parents were out of town when we found out we were pregnant so we took Steven's cardboard cut out over to their house with a sign around it's neck welcoming them home and telling them the good news. At first his mom who had just returned from a visit with 4 of her granddaughters in Seattle feared it was a cardboard cut out of Jacob from the Twilight series just like the one in her granddaughters bedroom. Once she put on her glasses and realized what she was looking at she screamed with excitement. Laurie was living with Steven's parents at the time so she found out when we put up the cardboard cut out and then Steven made a call or two to other siblings and work eventually got out to everyone.
