This year the doughnut game came down to Max and Elese. Max eventually won and won a date night with Grandma Heumann. He was so excited and they went to "the rice and beans place" (Cancun Cafe) a couple weeks later. Both of them were able to get an apple when bobbing for apples. Steven did a spook ally again and the kids were both very excited to go. Before going we told all the kids that if they are scared to just turn around and run back up stairs. I went with both the kids and was holding Elese's hand and the second we hit the bottom step Elese said, "Mommy, I'm scared" let go of my hand and ran as fast as she could. She went right to Grandma for love and comfort while I continued on with Max. Later on after the spook ally had been all cleaned up Elese said, "The spook bally is done so I'm not scared anymore but if it comes back (points to herself) SCARED!" While sitting around chatting before we left Elese was running around singing princess songs. She started to sing the Snow White song but didn't know the words so she stopped and said, "I sing better than Snow White" and started singing a different song.
For years Max has wanted to be Batman Beyond but costumes have been in short supply so with help from Grandma Hale we made him his awesome costume.
Every year we carve pumpkins but we've never had our very own porch to put them on. It was pretty fun to display them on our very own porch at our very own home.
