Fish Lake with the Heumanns *August 5th-7th*

DAY 1 -
We arrived the evening of Samuel's 4 month birthday. This was the day that he would get to try solids for the first time and he was very happy about it. He kept trying to eat more and more. Elese enjoyed having a tea party with Grandma Heumann while the rest of us got settled in. That evening before bed the Rivera's (who were sleeping in their new trailer giving us lots of space in the cabin) started some charcoal going and we made smores. They weren't your average smores. A friend of mine had mentioned using Reese's Peanut Butter cups instead of just chocolate and they were FANTASTIC!! Sam struggled with sleeping while we were there which made it so Steven had to sleep on the couch while Sam and I snuggled in the bed. Daddy was a good sport.DAY 2
We started out the morning pretty laid back. We had breakfast and the little ones turned the boat trailer into a teeter toter.A few years ago we all went into Capital Reef and had so much fun that we thought we had better do it again. After spending some time at the visitor center we headed to the picnic area for a snack before going hiking. While sitting and eating the kids wondered off and Steven and George went after them. They were gone for a long time so Heidi went on a search while I fed Sam and she never returned. Just as Grandma Heumann and I were about to go out searching Steven came and said that we had to come see what the kids were doing. This is what we found...Then I joined in the fun and boy was it fun! Sam even enjoyed the muddy mess. This was a really fun and memorable day. After we got cleaned up in the bathroom we decided to forgo the hike since we had so much fun in the mud. We couldn't head back to the cabin without getting ice cream though. It was so fun to just watch all the cute kids just sit and visit while they ate their ice cream.
Because smores had been such a success the night before we thought we would try them again and this time with snickers. PB cups are still my favorite.

DAY 3
Elese and Joey had SO much fun together. It was fun to see them start to develop a friendship. At Capital Reef Joey bought a whistle that also had a compass on it. Joey would wonder the trees surrounding the cabin and was certain that he could keep he and Elese safe because he had a compass. They eventually made their way to penny rock and Elese picked me some flowers. After their adventure we all headed down to the lake before heading home.
