September 2011

Max helping Daddy mow the lawn.
We decided to go and see the flags on the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The kids mostly just loved running around but every now and then they would stop and listen as Steven and I would talk about that day 10 years ago and read about some of the people who died. Then we went to church. That is why we were all dressed up.
My mom used to always get caterpillars for her preschool kids and let them watch the different stages and then let the butterflies go. She hasn't done this for years but Blake helped her find some caterpillars this year. One of the butterflies hatched on a day that she wasn't going to tutor so she brought it over for the kids to let go.Max is a very smart boy and knows just the right way to answer silly questions. This is a paper he brought home from school one day. When Max was in the 1st grade he won 2 vouchers to a REAL game and we still hadn't used them. Between Scout's and work Steven just hadn't gotten a chance to take him. Max loved it. Steven tolerated it. He's not a big sports fan, especially soccer.
