Then had our annual Christmas Eve party at the Heumann's and boy was it calm! Laurie's kids were with Michael it just left us and Tim's family. Most of his kids are older (the youngest had just turned 10) so it was a really small group and most everyone was old enough to have more subdued excitement. It was nice to have it a little more calm but I still missed seeing all the kids and their excitement.
After dinner Steven's mom did a little devotional and had us watch a video on her Kindle. Sam thought that was great and stood as close as he could to it while blocking everyone else's view. Fortunatly everyone seemed to just think it was cute.
(please excuse the freaky red eyes - I really need a good camera!!!)
After the devotional it was time to open gifts.
(This is actually Elese opening her Birthday gift)
This year Steven made a Lucy book for his mom. For years she's been using Lucy and her friend Edger to teach her grand kids life lessons so Steven brought it to life. Everyone loved it and some even purchased their own copies.
When we returned home we opened our traditional PJ's-read the Christmas Story from the Bible as well as 'twas the Night Before Christmas. Once again the kids decided to all sleep in the same room so we pulled Elese's mattress into the boys room and they went right to sleep.
