Sam was adjusting to being a big brother MUCH better than I had anticipated. He was so kind and loving to her. He did however - require some mommy time. At this time he would indicate (still not much talking) that he wanted to go outside and swing as soon as Olivia went down for her nap. So out we would go. First thing he would put on Elese's helmet because he wanted so badly to be just like his awesome big sister. Then I would help him into the swing and he would swing and swing.
From the look of his shoes I'm going to assume that he was so excited about going outside that he would put them on himself.
Sam also always wanted to be right by me and Olivia. He would even "read" to her whenever he had the chance. He would even pretend to feed her the Hungry Little Caterpillar's food. I would make a chomping noise when I would read this to him and he loved it! Love this boy!
When Sam would hear Olivia crying he would get so excited that she was awake. He would run into my bedroom (where the bassinet was) shouting with excitement - "Baby! Baby!"
On June 12th Sam tried to take flight. While pointing his arms into the air he jumped as high as he could. He kept doing it and would get very frustrated. Sam struggles with speech so it was hard to figure out what he was trying to do or say. Finally it clicked. I asked "Are you trying to fly". He got so excited - said yes and continued to try and fly.
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".
