My friend Jennie who I watch Vampire Diaries went to a Live Nativity on "VD Night". She was running late because they had to wait in line for 2 hours! It caused her lots of frustration but she said that afterward when her boys said "Mom I loved that! Can we do it again?" that the 2 hour wait was worth it. Unfortunately that was the last night of that Live Nativity. Apparently the one she went to has been deemed "the best" in the state. When I discovered that our old Stake was doing one I decided that we had to go. We picked up my mom and took her along. It was very cold. It started out with some hot chocolate and some little pretend shops to show what things would have been like in Bethlehem. Then came the live nativity part with a real baby and real animals. I felt so bad for that little baby but they had ways of helping him stay warm...it was funny to see baby Jesus with a pacifier though.
If you look at the photo of Sam by the fire this is where he learned how to tell us something is hot. If the tube is too hot or even his food he holds his hand out like that and blows. Cute boy.
The kids all enjoyed it but I think the cold prevented us from REALLY enjoying it. I'd like to try going to the one Jennie went to next year. She said that they only let a certain amount of people in where the animals and actors were so you could actually pay closer attention to the story. This was just a bunch of people coming and going during the story. It was still very nice I'd just like to try it the other way too.
About Me
- Becky
- I started out as a daughter and sister. Then things progressed and suddenly I was also a young child and a friend. As I grew I became a teen who was boy crazy and also enjoyed singing and performing in musicals. For a brief time I was a college student and then a newlywed. I enjoyed working in the "real world" as a claims adjuster's assistant. Then out of nowhere I was suddenly grown up and taking on the most challenging role of my life, Mother of 4. Now the time has come for the role of daughter to join the main players at center stage with the additional of the title, "caregiver".
